Good afternoon, I hope I can help someone today. This morning the Lord led me to the book of Job. I quickly read over the last 8 chapters and felt the need to go back and start at the beginning slowly.
I love that we can read the bible over and over and learn something new or see something you may have previously missed or overlooked.
Chapter one : In this chapter we see that Job is a man of integrity, he does not have anything to do with evil, however the Lord allowed him to be tested.
The next thing I see is that God did none of the things to Job. Satan did . I feel God is telling me to remember that Satan does have power. Our God is bigger and more powerful but do no underestimate Satan.
I am reminded it is easy to praise the Lord when all is well. The test comes when we praise God in spite of our loss our sorrow.
Chapter 2 (Test 2)
God allowed Satan to attack Job’s health. Again God did not do this Satan did. Job’s wife tell him to curse God and die. He rubukes her and refuses to do so. Three of his friends come and stay 7 days and 7 nights with him. They do not say a word they are just with him. They knew his suffering was to great for words. I am reminded again Satan has great power but he had to ask God’s permission at that time to use it. I also realize that sometimes when comforting a friend it is enough just to be there. We do not always have to be prepared to speak. Just our mere presence is enough in their great time of sorrow.
Chapter 3 Job speak
Job did not take his sufferings quietly. He did curse the day he was born and question his very existence. What he did not do is curse God.

My wow made me think verse for today is verse 25 when Job says everything I ever feared has come true. Every motivational speaker I listen to talks about the power of vision. What you think about manifests in your life. Even though Job was a good and godly man his thought life showed he had fear. As you know starting this blog has been on my heart for sometime and I made excuses. I will continue to obey God and keep the vision before me. I will not let my mind dwell on fear and doubt. I will see the many blessing God has for me manifest in my life.
Chapter 4
Job’s friend reminds him of all the times he encouraged others to trust God. The friend encourages him to trust God even in his sorrow. He really doesn’t think God can trust humans. Although his intent is to encourage I do not really find him very encouraging. My take away from this is we should always remember God work in us in the good times and the bad. When we falter we can look back on past works God has done in us and through us to get us through the bad or sorrowful time.
Chapter 5
Fools who turn from God may be successful for a moment , then disaster will strike. God gives prosperity to the poor and humble. He gives joy to those who confess their sins to go. Joy to those who actually learn from his discipline. I am reminded that discipline is not good at the moment but we are much better and more at peace when we learn from that discipline.
My prayer today is that I will see the truth in all things. I pray that I do not live unaware of Satan’s power, but that I trust that God is even more powerful. I ask that you help me move forward for you . I also pray today that you expose my own sin Lord so I may ask for forgiveness and overcome it. Amen.
Excellent thoughts and truths from Job! So glad you are obeying the Lord by blogging! I am proud of you!
