The book of Job

Good afternoon, I hope I can help someone today. This morning the Lord led me to the book of Job. I quickly read over the last 8 chapters and felt the need to go back and start at the beginning slowly.

I love that we can read the bible over and over and learn something new or see something you may have previously missed or overlooked.

Chapter one : In this chapter we see that Job is a man of integrity, he does not have anything to do with evil, however the Lord allowed him to be tested.

The next thing I see is that God did none of the things to Job. Satan did . I feel God is telling me to remember that Satan does have power. Our God is bigger and more powerful but do no underestimate Satan.

I am reminded it is easy to praise the Lord when all is well. The test comes when we praise God in spite of our loss our sorrow.

Chapter 2 (Test 2)

God allowed Satan to attack Job’s health. Again God did not do this Satan did. Job’s wife tell him to curse God and die. He rubukes her and refuses to do so. Three of his friends come and stay 7 days and 7 nights with him. They do not say a word they are just with him. They knew his suffering was to great for words. I am reminded again Satan has great power but he had to ask God’s permission at that time to use it. I also realize that sometimes when comforting a friend it is enough just to be there. We do not always have to be prepared to speak. Just our mere presence is enough in their great time of sorrow.

Chapter 3 Job speak

Job did not take his sufferings quietly. He did curse the day he was born and question his very existence. What he did not do is curse God.

My wow made me think verse for today is verse 25 when Job says everything I ever feared has come true. Every motivational speaker I listen to talks about the power of vision. What you think about manifests in your life. Even though Job was a good and godly man his thought life showed he had fear. As you know starting this blog has been on my heart for sometime and I made excuses. I will continue to obey God and keep the vision before me. I will not let my mind dwell on fear and doubt. I will see the many blessing God has for me manifest in my life.

Chapter 4

Job’s friend reminds him of all the times he encouraged others to trust God. The friend encourages him to trust God even in his sorrow. He really doesn’t think God can trust humans. Although his intent is to encourage I do not really find him very encouraging. My take away from this is we should always remember God work in us in the good times and the bad. When we falter we can look back on past works God has done in us and through us to get us through the bad or sorrowful time.

Chapter 5

Fools who turn from God may be successful for a moment , then disaster will strike. God gives prosperity to the poor and humble. He gives joy to those who confess their sins to go. Joy to those who actually learn from his discipline. I am reminded that discipline is not good at the moment but we are much better and more at peace when we learn from that discipline.

My prayer today is that I will see the truth in all things. I pray that I do not live unaware of Satan’s power, but that I trust that God is even more powerful. I ask that you help me move forward for you . I also pray today that you expose my own sin Lord so I may ask for forgiveness and overcome it. Amen.

MINDSET

Good morning!! I have my bullet proof coffee with me and am ready to let you know my thoughts for today. If you are here thank you. I appreciate that you have taken the time to read my thoughts.

I am still trying to get the hang of this so bear with me. I just jumped in as you know because I feel like this is what God wants me to do. If I can help anyone I long the way that is what I desire to do.

Mindset is the established set of attitudes held by someone.

My mindset today is one of focus, determination, and gratitude. It is the now or never mindset. No more procrastination. I will choose everyday to do the things that pusher me closer to all my goals.

I will continue to listen to people who motivate me and teach me how to change my mindset from one of self doubt to one who knows she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. Some of my all time favorites are Zig Ziglar, Jim Rhone, Tony Robbins, John Maxwell, Brian Tracy, Terry Savelle Foy, and lately Dean Graziosi.

I will continue to read things that teach me or challenge my mind. I have several books by Napoleon Hill , Brian Tracy, John Maxwell, and Dave Ramsay just to name a few. I encourage you to find someone you can relate to and spend time learning from their experiences.

This year I decided to focus on getting my health back. The beginning of the year I started doing Nicole Wilkins challenges and also am in the middle of training with Naomi Rabon who is also a part of Nicole’s team. My body composition has changed so much and I am realizing how much nutrition plays a part in our overall health. I am totally committed to stay the course because I know consistency is key. I know for me it is best to workout first thing in the morning. I know I must meal prep to stay on track with nutrition. I also know now my journey may be completely different from someone else’s journey. We all respond differently to things.

I am dedicated to this blog and to getting better at it. I am dedicated to helping others any way I can.

Thankful

Today I am thankful for the sun on my face. For each of you who have taken a moment in time to be with me. I am thankful for my job, my health, my family, people I can learn and grow from and with. Most of all I am grateful for my God who sent his son Jesus to save me. I pray I never let him down.

May all of us be blessed this Thanksgiving. May we truly slow down and remember to be grateful for what we have big and small.

If you have a negative mindset I ask that you immerse yourself in things that will help you turn that around. It may be different for each of us. I pray that you will open your heart and mind to the things that will make you better and help you live a full life. If you can stop your negative thinking and replace it with positive thinking and action I promise you will me more fulfilled.

Philippians:4:8 Finally brothers and sister, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -think about such things.

Laying it down and giving it to God or taking it back up.

Today I just want to share with you a recurring thought that has come up in several conversations this past week.

How many of us give God our worries to the Lord on a regular basis?

Giving them to God is not the hard part, the hard part is leaving them there.(at least for me and most of the other men and women I have talked to this week.)

Matthew 6:35 says: “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Is is very easy to say Lord I am giving this worry, care, sin over to you right now. When we walk away do we really leave it there or do we pick it back up and carry it with us.

I have had to work on this and am sure I will continue to do so.

When we struggle we have several option:

  1. Biblical truths speak the truth of God. Read the word of God!
  2. Pray with complete faith that God will answer our prayers.
  3. Worship with song
  4. Have a friend pray with us.
  5. Remind your self of a time in the pasts God has taken care of you.

I hope some one is encouraged by my thoughts today. I know I have a Lord that has our best interests at heart. He carries us through troubling times, if we let him.

Be blessed and may we all give our worries to God and leave them there.

Welcome to Coffee with Miss D

Good afternoon thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.

Today I am just being obedient to something the Lord placed in my heart several years ago and I was afraid to act on the instructions. When God tells you to do something it is not my recommendation to argue with him or say that the time is not now.

So here goes I am a loyal friend. I can be a little rough around the edges and in your face. Honest and blunt are two words my closest friends use to describe me. I just want you to know my only intention is to help others follow after Christ and live their best lives in an ever changing world.

I want you to ponder on Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future.

I know this verse by heart and yet I still prolonged my obedience. I do not know what the future holds for me or how long and far it will go. I do know that God is the only thing that never changes. I do know that he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for my sins. I do know he allows all of us to turn our lives around no matter how far from him we have strayed from him.

I am not a perfect person so very far from it and I have to ask God for forgiveness and help on a daily basis. Did you know that you must forgive if you expect to be forgiven Mathew 6:14 “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you”.
